About The Danish LanguageDanish is a Scandinavian language, closely related to Norwegian and Swedish, and less closely to German, Dutch, and English. As the official language of Denmark it has about 5 million native speakers. Despite its small size, regional dialects do exist, particularly around Skaane in Sweden. The Danish spoken on the Pimsleur tapes represents a standard Danish that is considered the official language of Denmark.
